Living in the Maximum Forgiveness

“How many times must I forgive my brother?” (Mt. 18:21)

Peter’s question is a common reaction of many of us on the journey of Christ transformation.  We often come to God with an attitude of wanting to know the minimum and not how we can simply live life.  Christ challenges Peter with a maximum answer, “not seven times, but seven times seven”.  Jesus is not trying to get us to focus on the number, but on the fullness of forgiveness in our hearts.  We can forgive, and we must forgive to build the relationships with others around us.

God has forgiven our great sins and separation of relationship with Him.  We must learn to pass on that same forgiveness to all who are in our lives too.
