“He leads me beside still waters,” (PS. 23:2).
For water to be constantly still they have to be quite deep. The depth keeps the waters from easily being moved about by wind.
The Psalm writer says still water. It is comforting in the calmness of God. It is comforting in His deep supply, because when waters are deep they never run dry. We can be at peace, because He meets the deep needs of our lives. He also has a supply that never runs out.
