Philippians 2:7 (NIV)
7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
How can God, who is perfect, without sin, and unable to even be in the presence of sin. After all, when we look at it in the description of light and darkness it becomes obvious that Sin and Holiness cannot stand together.
When you come into a dark room and turn on a light, the darkness retreats or is destroyed by the light. In the same way sin in the presence of the perfect and Holy God is destroyed. This is why when people meet even the servants of God, angels, in Scripture, they are terrified. We would do the same thing, because the presence of perfection and holiness against our sinfulness would cause us to fall in fear.
God, loved us and wanted to save us, which meant that He had to find a way to enter this world, and save us. Since, we can’t go into his presence he set aside the power and glory. He emptied himself of Glory. This was to save us all from our sins. In fact, He put himself in our place so that we could be saved. Paying the price with his own sacrifice.
Remember the Love that God has for you. Love that caused Him to leave all of Glory, so that He could save and reconnect to you.
