Do you remember playing games as a child. Many games of tag or other outdoor activities started with the words, “Ready, set, go!”
We are instructed by Paul to be ready. Twice, in his writing to the Ephesians about the Armor of God Paul speaks of being ready.
Ephesians 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Paul, wants to remind the reader that we must always be ready with the Gospel. Jesus reminded us to always be ready, “for the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect him,” (Mt. 24:44).
Many people are preparing for the Christmas season. They are decorating and getting their homes ready. There are parties to plan and gifts to give. However, many people are missing getting their hearts ready to meet Jesus in the season that honors His birth. The things of the world press in and it’s easy to miss the reason for the season. Take some time to refocus and prepare your hearts for the season that reminds us to look expectantly for the promise of God.
May God Bless your journey with Jesus.
